TEXTILE PARK

Inspired by the Chamber's relentless efforts to encourage prospective entrepreneurs for development of an “ Integrated Textile Park under the Central and State Govt. schemes, a dedicated group of members along with others have come forward to establish an integrated Textile Park in West Bengal, near Kolkata. For this purpose they have formed an independent SPV- “Bengal Integrated Textile Park Ltd.” However, due to delay in allotment/procurement of land uncertainty looms over this proposed Textile Park. 

TEXTILEFAIR- BUYERS-SELLER MEET

1. TEXVISION-2007

The Chamber organized  Texvision 2007 from  24th to 26th  April, 2007  at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata. This was the first ever platform of its kind and scale for a composite Textile Fare in  Eastern India . Not only did it showcase the incredible textile-potential of the region but also supported rapid evolution and new opportunities at national and international levels. From yarn to fabrics, garments, embroidery, accessories, machinery and mores it covered the full circle of the sector. 62 exhibitors from all over the country participated in Tex Vision 2007. This was a comprehensive representation of every sphere of the textile, with the presence of buyers, retailers, traders, distributors and manufacturers, professionals and policy makers to experienced as well as upcoming entrepreneurs resulted in an unparalleled networking opportunity. Also, a series of seminars and symposiums were addressed by the eminent personalities, professionals and representatives of reputed institutions which helped to educate and impart vision to the participants and visitors. The venue, Netaji Indoor Stadium, one of  India 's largest indoor complexes, was executively decorated by the exhibitors to provide a high quality service and information to about 10000 visitors.

2.  TEXVISION-2008

The second Trade Fair –  TEXVISION 2008  was organized once again at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from 7th  to 9th May For the first time this fair was organized in association with The Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and Department of Textiles, Government of West Bengal and ably supported by Textile Committee, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and Power loom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL).

Apart from showcasing the incredible textile potential of the region, Texvision 2008 supported the rapid evaluation and new opportunities at National and International levels i.e. from yarn to fabrics and end products, such as Suiting, Shirting, Sarees, Dress Materials, Home Textiles, Made-ups, garments, embroidery, handloom &sericulture products, accessories, machinery and more. This fair was a comprehensive representation of various spheres of the textile. During the fair several seminars and symposiums were organized.

63 established and reputed textile mills/dealers/distributors from all over the country and overseas participants from Bangladesh participated in this mega event.

In the last couple of years we have experienced a sharp shift in consumers' preference, changes in fashion, textile production pattern and marketing strategy thus TEXVISION 2008 was the correct step in the right direction.

3.  TEXVISION-2010

The third edition of Texvision was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from 25th to 29th  April, 2010.This year's fair was once again held in association with THE OFFICE OF THE TEXTILE COMMISSIONER, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and was supported by PDEXCIL, TEXPROCIL and TEXTILE COMMITTEE, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.

The number of Exhibitors were 56 from various segments of the Textile Industry from all over  India .  Exhibitors were from Suiting, Shirting, Power loom, Denim, Sarees, Salwar Suits, Dress Materials, Yarns & Sewing Thread, Accessories and two Process Houses also participated in the fair.

The fair was open for four days for Trade Visitors i.e. on 25, 26, 28 & 29th April, 2010. It same was appreciated and attended by 5388 Trade Visitors. A series of educative seminars were also held on 26th, 28th and 29th April, 2010.

2.  TEXVISION-2012

With previous successful Texvision Fairs in its strides, COTTI is once again coming up with eagerly awaited TEXVISION 2012 17th to 19th April, 2012. once again the Venue being Netaji Indoor Stadium (centrally air-conditioned) situated in the heart of Kolkata.

GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION (1961-2011)

Completion of 50 eventful years of services to Textile Trade & Industry successfully justifies celebrations and appropriately inaugurated with Trade Fair- Texvision 2010 - on  25th April 2010  by Hon'ble Sri Manabendra Mukherjee, Textile Minister, Govt. of West Bengal, the Programme was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium.  Shri Swaminatahn Gurumurthy , the eminent economists addressed a Seminar on  30th July, 2010 at Mahajati Sadan Annexed Auditorium. On  18 TH  December, 2010 for the first time at Netaji Indoor Stadium  Dr. Sneh Desai  addressed a popular workshop on  Journey from Middle Class to Millionaire  which was organized with packed house and More than ten thousand members and their families attended this 10-hour long Seminar. Elaborate and colorful cultural programmes for Deepawali and Holi at Nalban Boating Complex and Science City Auditorium were organized on 13th November, 2010 and 16th March, 2011  respectively with record attendance. The  Grand Finale Programme  was held at Science City Auditorium on 26th June, 2011 which was inaugurated by Shri Partha Chatterjee, Hon'ble Minister in charge, Department of Commerce & Industries, Public Enterprises, Industrial Reconstruction, Information Technology &Parliamentary Affairs and also attended by Dr. Manas Ranjan Bhunia, Hon'ble Minister in Charge, Department of Micro & Small Scale Enterprise and Textile, Irrigation and Waterways and Shri Sudip Bandopadhayay, Hon'ble MP among other dignitaries and well-wishers. All Past Presidents and Secretaries of the Chamber were felicitated on this happy occasion remembering their valuable contribution for this organization. On this occasion, the Chamber also published an excellent well designed Golden Jubilee Souvenir entitled- Weaving Texcellence – enriched with useful insights. The publication was well received and widely appreciated by all concerned.
